Graves disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes the thyroid gland to produce too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism). This can lead to symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, weight loss, anxiety, tremors, heat intolerance, fatigue, and difficulty sleeping. Some people may also develop eye problems, including bulging eyes and vision changes. While Graves disease is a lifelong condition, it can be effectively managed with medication, radioactive iodine therapy, or surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to help control symptoms, protect long-term health, and improve quality of life.
