🔊HEARTBURN AND ACID REFLUX ♿️

Aug 14
1 min read

Heartburn and acid reflux occur when stomach contents flow back into the esophagus, causing a burning sensation in the chest or throat and sometimes an unpleasant sour taste. Relief may come from avoiding personal trigger foods, eating smaller meals, and waiting at least 3 hours after eating before lying down.

Elevating the head during sleep and avoiding smoking may also help reduce symptoms.

If heartburn happens frequently, doesn't improve with lifestyle changes or over-the-counter treatment, or occurs with chest pain, trouble swallowing, persistent vomiting, bleeding, or unexplained weight loss, seek medical attention.
