🎙️ ACID REFLUX ♿️

Acid reflux occurs when stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, often causing heartburn, chest pain, a sour or bitter taste in the mouth, regurgitation, difficulty swallowing, or a chronic cough. It can be triggered by certain foods, large meals, obesity, smoking, pregnancy, or lying down too soon after eating. While occasional acid reflux is common, frequent symptoms may be a sign of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which can lead to inflammation and damage to the esophagus if left untreated.

Managing acid reflux through healthy eating, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding trigger foods, and using medications when recommended can help reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
